Carrying his late wife's ashes to the edge of the divided nation, a grieving man encounters an aging refugee longing for his lost home—and a series of mysterious deaths shrouded in shamanic doom.


Synopsis

Sun-seok heads to a quiet seaside village on the East Coast to scatter the ashes of his wife, who passed away three years ago. Wishing to lay her to rest near her hometown in the North, he attempts to scatter her ashes along the coastline due to the painful reality of national division, but is stopped and turned away by military coastal guards.

While staying at a local inn, Sun-seok meets a sick old man who yearns to spend his final moments near his Northern hometown, accompanied by a devoted nurse. Though the old man longs to die as close to the North as possible, his son refuses to understand his wish. Soon after, the women Sun-seok meets at the inn strangely suffer from sudden fits or meet untimely deaths one after another...
